Amarillo, TX

Although we had to contend with morning commuter traffic it went pretty quickly through Albuquerque and we soon were out on the I40 with hundreds of miles before our turn into the RV park.  This is the part of the journey where we are just making time and dodging storms on a run for home.

Albuquerque morning traffic

A change of scenery to pines and hills

 Back to Junipers and cholla

 Leaving New Mexico

 Yeah Texas

Hmm, more open plains with cholla cactus

Amarillo with very little traffic

We are camped at AOK RV park just outside Amarillo.  We have electricity and a level spot, OK for one night.  Hey, what's that?

Still, it is only $14/night.  The planes stopped after 5 p.m.  The Meadowlarks, Grackles, Red-winged Blackbirds, and Robins are singing here.

Llama in field adjacent to rv park

There is a Longhorn cow off to the left in the distance too.

Also an Emu!

477 Km.
