Happy Halloween

Our treat today was a new passenger side windshield, just in time to leave for Mexico in the morning.  Yay!

The right tool for the job

Ever shiney!

Yesterday was spent shopping and walking the trail.  Kirk and I had a morning and afternoon walk as it was a cooler day.

Saguaro National Park

We took it easy yesterday and did some grocery shopping.  Kirk and I walked on the trail several times.  Our travelling companions, Teri and Louise,  got here on Saturday and are in the site beside us.

Today Teri and I went on a guided tour in Saguaro National Park with a Park Ranger.

Tallest Saguaro in photo is 102 years old

This is a fairly lush portion of the park especially since it recently rained.

Exposed portion of Saguaro is very hard

They are currently researching why this particular area has lots of young Saguaro.

The ranger gave us a very informative one hour talk about desert plants and then left us to finish the rest of the trail on our own.

Beep Beep

Kirk and I set out on the trail again.  A Roadrunner decided he had to have a close look at us and ran along with us for awhile.  I had been hoping to see one throughout our drive down here.

The Roadrunner left us but when we were just about back to our campsite he showed up again.  Danger lurked though and Kirk and I could see a life and death scene unfolding before us.  What should we do???

Uh-oh

Do we intervene??
