Hebron, NE

A lot of freeway driving with a tailwind today.  We got a rock in the passenger windshield in the morning and sustained a crack running across.  We had just had the driver's side replaced a few days ago also due to a stone chip that ran!  After several phone calls we have an appointment for a replacement in Arizona.  Enough adventure already!  The harvest is still in full swing here in Nebraska.

We arrived at the Hebron town campground to find it completely empty.

All alone, lovely.

As Kirk and I went out to walk along the cement pathway which runs through the park and around the town we were suddenly amidst a group of runners of all makes and sizes.  Apparently, it's the Fun run leading up to the marathon Oregon Trail Run of Nebraska this weekend!

Cement trail

Trail markers are cow skulls, Kirk is keen!

Uncanny how we manage to find ourselves in the midst of things.  Kirk and I decided that we may as well participate in the fun run and surely we could keep up with the lady with the puppy and a couple of little kids.  We went along with the Nebraskans seeing the sites of Hebron.

Over little bridges

Past pretty gardens

Where'd they go?

Later we gave it up and returned to our RV.

472 Km.

Looks loverly down there. We had no frost overnight after a nice warm day on Thursday. Today was a roller coaster, cold wind in the morning, then down to our shirt sleeves in the sun mid afternoon. As I drove back from helping Jon re-roof his shed I was looking at a snow pellet rainbow, then rain, then hail! Hi of nothing tomorrow! Don't break nothin tomorrow...okay!
