Well, after the storm the roads have cleared and off we go. Leaving is a tumult of emotions. Sad to leave family and our old cat. Exciting to be off on another adventure. Kirk is ready to go...anywhere! Manitoba looks like Spring with water everywhere and the sun burning through the fog. Sunflowers hang limp and tilting in soggy ground. Clumps of snow along the highways cause me to wonder how many miles/days until we wear our sandals again. (Regrets about the centred formatting, we're having a fight with blogspot)
We've crossed this exact date in the past, Wednesday morning, nine-ish, two, maybe three cars queued up at the border; but not today. It was an hour and five minutes to get to the single gate they had open. Then, a quick two minute conversation to pass into the US of A, land of smooth roads and cheap-ish (about .80/l) gas.
The land looks pretty much as it did 6 months ago when passed through on our way north, a little snow, and on the verge of flooding.
Kirk and I set off for a tour of the town and supper will be Burger King a short walk away.
356 Km.
