JEEP Annual Fundraiser

Well it has been awhile since our last blog.  The day started out with light rain intermittently and progressed to a solid downpour around 4:00 p.m. and onward. Perfect to catch up on the blog.

Flowers enjoying rain.

This past week I was busy getting ready for the Jaltemba Equine Education Project (JEEP) fundraiser.
On Wednesday we went up to Los Compadres Suite Hotel to get the Silent Auction items ready to display.  There were about 40 baskets/items and it took us a good part of the day.  This hotel is owned by George and Loretta who take care of JEEP.

The views from Los Compadres overlook La Peñita and the bay.  A very nice place to work on the baskets.

The event itself was on Thursday and approximately 200 people were fed chicken or steak and entertained from 2:30 to 6:00.  Friends and I sold beer, wine, and soft drink tickets.  Wine was 2 tickets and Beer 1 ticket (25 pesos).  Four tickets for 100 pesos to avoid needing a pile of change.  We set up in the morning and were back from 1:00 to 6:45.

Setting up

No, you can't buy only one ticket! We sold a lot of tickets.
