March 26 - San Carlos y Guaymas

This morning we drove south along the ocean towards Guaymas.  We were headed for Estuario del Soldado (Estuary of Soldiers).  This is a 350-acre coastal lagoon surrounded by mangroves.

A portion of the hike is along the beach.

We saw a number of kayaks out from the beach and about 4 dolphins swimming with them.

Seabirds at the mouth of the estuary

We saw this lovely snake along the trail back along the mangroves.

We went to a local beachside restaurant for brunch.

Afternoon was spent as siesta, something I could get accustomed to, followed by dinner with friends.

I passed the last photo on to the brothers so they could see how difficult going out to eat would be from the sailboat!
