February 28 - Jamurca & Hinde y Jaime's

Today Cam, Murray, Joan, Bev & Stan ventured out to Jamurca aguas termales (hot springs).

In the evening we all went to Hinde y Jaime's restaurante on the hill to enjoy the sunset and night time view.  There were actually fireworks over Rincon.

February 26 & 27

Yesterday was spent in the usual way - Spanish, aquafit, and watching the waves.   Today was wash, buff and wax day for the Bigfoot.  We had arranged for Marteen to come and clean the Bigfoot inside and out as well as the car.

He finished the wash and nearly all of the buffing but has to return tomorrow to complete the outside.
He does a good job and it was optimistic to think he could do everything in one day.  He will have to do the interior and car at a later date.  We didn't want to leave in case he needed something so we spent the day once again watching the view.

The vultures were busy eyeing up some unfortunate fish on the beach while Kirk and the big guy faced off as usual.  Who will be the big dog?

February 25 - Miles & Miles and Familia pizza

I walked many miles today with friends through the plantations then back into town for the Tianguis (market)  and back to the park.

February 23 & 24 - Adios & it's "springtime" in La Penita

I spent the afternoon yesterday doing a puzzle with friends.

There are iguanas in each end of their canopy pipes

It was also a send off day for a new friend.  A group of us went to a restaurant called Don Porfirio's.

great view, hmmm if the CRV stayed here longer???

It is the end of the "winter" season here.  Trees that lay dormant are blooming and growing fruit in the RV park.

Figs

Bananas

There were a few fish caught by park residents today including this Wahoo (below).  I got there a little late for a complete fish photo.  The Mexican fellow was taking it to scrape the flesh off the skeleton for ceviche.  He also had the roe.

The animosity between Kirk and the big iguana continues with Kirk straining at his lead while the big guy (below) paces back and forth on our patio wall giving him the open mouthed head nod.

February 21 & 22

Yesterday we returned to Steffany's to see Stan & Bev and new arrivals Murray & Joan who had flown in the day before.  It was a great day to be swimming in the ocean and they were enjoying it. We had a good visit and Cam and I went home to spend the afternoon on our deck watching the century plant grow.

This morning we went to the Rincon Tianguis (market) as did Murray, Stan, Bev & Joan.

ok, turns out that's Murray & Stan!

In the afternoon we picked up Murray & Joan and headed for El Monteon to visit the sandal lady.  She was there but alas the sandals did not fit us or the footprints we had from friends.  She said she may have more in two weeks so we will try again.  We drove to both El Monteon beaches as well as a bit of a tour through some agricultural lands of bananas, sugar cane, corn, cucumbers, cattle and what we believe to have been millet.
