Adios

So the sun has indeed set on our time in La Peñita and we left yesterday morning at 6:30 a.m. The idea was to avoid heavy truck and tourist traffic as this is a long weekend celebrating Benito Juarez's birthday.

It was a cloudy day which was perfect for driving up Tepic hill where we would have faced the sun.
A lovely drive through the already blooming forests and low cloud.

Love those trees

Jungle

Lots of sugar cane fields

We were also driving on Sunday to avoid the heavily loaded sugar cane trucks.  These are often losing bits of cane as they go and are terribly slow.

What the......?  Sugar cane truck!

However, we did encounter a few cane trucks at the very end of the drive into Tepic but it was no problem.  We took the new bypass around Xalisco better known as skinny town where we usually have to squeeze through narrow streets.

Dueling cane trucks on bypass

More sugarcane

We arrived at Baraka's Beach Club & RV around 12:30 and managed to get the last few good spots.
We will be here until Tuesday morning.

370 Km.
