February 8 - El Monteon's second beach

We drove to El Monteon today.  We found the sandal lady at home and Cam got new sandals.

Then we continued to the second beach at El Monteon.  (We had explored the way to the other beach earlier this month.)  Along the way we spotted this fellow with a mule loaded with sugar cane.

At the beach

Horses are a major transportation method here.

Egrets, Ibises and a Black Hawk in the estuary by the beach.

These cows were chewing on sugar cane husks.

Egrets are usually with the cattle.

Nice sandals! Noticed in your photos that some of those vacaros stick to the tradition of not using a bit.

Hey, looks like another successful Mexican adventure. Were you able to pick up any extra pairs of sandals?

The paper sizing was forgotten at home; gives us another chance to get that tough lady to lower her prices when we return.
