We got an early start to try to hit the border at a good time. The drive was quite different as it was foggy then rainy and the land was flat and swampy. Saw my very first White-tailed Kites today!
Roads reminded us of home, yes, that good.
corn fields
lots of oranges for sale
goats grazing with their shepherds keeping them off the road (also horses, cows, chickens)
raining pretty good when we got to Matamorose
the border was pretty quiet, ya think!
That is an understatement, there were only 2 other people in the Mexican office and a nice security guy practically walked the Bigfoot into parking right by the door. When we went to the U.S. crossing area the car line up was a little busier and they ushered the Bigfoot into a building with a big X-ray unit. Cam, Kirk and I waited in a sitting area while they scanned it. Then that was it, away we went. We were at our campsite in Breeze Lake in about 20 minutes.
