The day dawned quietly with a small breeze. People wandered about surveying the aftermath. The park restaurant did a booming business. The Bigfoot and CRV were unscathed.
Neighbour's awning
Tarps were torn from the frames above the trailers
Beach cut by wave action
Palapa massage area trashed
these little guys lost their nest
Mangos on our old camp site
our friends kitchen canopy, bolts ripped out of the cement, sign says Tiki hut - closed
Mangos and screws strewn about, tell the story
Still a stormy day off and on today.
Mango went through this guy's skylight.
People spent the day cleaning up, raking leaves, figs & mangos, washing patios, etc. Our neighbour repaired his awning. Most didn't bother putting tarps back up (those that weren't shredded) as most of us are leaving this coming week. Basically, it resulted in people washing up and packing items slightly earlier than planned. One lady said it was the worst storm she had experienced here in the 20 years she has been coming to the park. In some ways, it brings people together in a common experience, everyone helping each other. Lots of conversation, a very upbeat group taking it all in stride the only complaining I heard was when they missed the tequila shots under our canopy at 1:00 a.m.
It was also nice to have a storm and rain, very cozy in our RV.
