Just another shopping day

More walking tour photos.  We shopped around town looking for things like icing sugar and unsweetened yogurt which are hard to find.  It is interesting learning about different foods and what they are used for here.  There are many different kinds of fresh and dried peppers and chilies, cheeses, fruits, squash, spices, vanillas, and candy in huge amounts for filling piñatas.  Piñatas made of papier-mâché, pottery, or cloth are hanging in the stores for Christmas.

Another fine rooster

Assorted peppers in La Peñita

In the afternoon I went with friends to the Bodega Aurora in Las Varas.  This is the small rural Mexico version of Walmart.  We go here to buy soft drinks, chicken thighs (can't get them solo in La Peñita only as part of a half or whole chicken), cheap beer and rum, etc.

Mattresses anyone?

There have been bangers going off at dusk and during the evening.  Probably leading up to Our Lady of Guadalupe services in mid December.
