Santa Ana, Sonora, Mexico - All Saints' Day

We left Tucson at 8:30 with Teri and Louise.  Today is All Saints' Day in Mexico.  It is believed that the souls of children return to the world of the living on November 1, followed by adult spirits on the Day of the Dead (Día de los Muertos) on November 2.

On the road towards Nogales

The drive through the border was a nonevent as no-one even stopped us.  Then after we cleared Nogales there was a check point that only wanted to see the CRV registration.  Then we continued on to the Banjercito 23 km down the road to do our Turista cards and vehicle permits.

At the Banjercito

Parts of the highway are being upgraded but still good.

Hilly country with mixed vegetation

Food and cerveza stands along road

Oranges, limes, gourds, fruit drinks, etc

Lots of really healthy Saguaro Cacti

Beautiful country

Although we were the only ones here it later filled up with 5 more rigs.

Our electric outlet, we opted to run on our house batteries for the night.

Sitting on the patio having refreshments.

236 Km.
