Pulmonia

We spent the evening last night listening to one of the best Latino bands we have had the pleasure of camping next to.  Three more RVs arrived here today headed for La Peñita as well.  We knew 2 of them.  So we spent the afternoon exchanging travel stories and then headed for Fat Fish restaurant for ribs and margaritas.  We got there in a Pulmonía.  This literally means "pneumonia".   Ours was a red truck with a canopy and bench seats in the box.  They are unique to Mazatlan.  The taxis had given them this name because they are open air and they wanted to discourage people from using them.

There was a new couple with the rest of us and they weren't so sure about speeding down the streets with no seat belts and music blasting out the speakers - Tequila by Herb Alpert, Pretty Woman and 60's hits.  In the end they said it was fun.

We had a great meal then back we went after negotiating with several pulmonias to get the same price we had on the way to the restaurant.  The guy who finally agreed to take us got a big tip so we paid more in the end but hey we had to reward him.  Now he can go back to the other guys who were yelling something at him (probably something like don't take those cheap .... ) and flaunt it.

Speeding along hoping our driver won't need to brake hard

Note the speakers top left and right

Much like riding with Harold and Amelia in Willy. Except Willy was much more civilized since it had a canvas top on it!
