December 4 - Deluge

Well, it poured all night and continued today with the odd break which brought the dog walkers out in force.

Last night this garden was level with water running into our patio

still pouring rain today

Late afternoon, the rain is abating while the ocean continues to be rough.  Someone once said if you are feeling important, stick your finger in a bucket of water and pull it out to see how big a hole it left.  That is how watching the ocean makes me feel.  Disturbing yet comforting.   Like the barking huskies of Fort Simpson, NWT  it is taking some time to get used to the constant sound of the surf. It always sounds like there is a strong wind then you look out and nine times out of ten there is at most a gentle breeze here, even today.

Well at least you don't have to shovel it!! Us stay behinds are going to get it in the ear this week, with winter weather warning out starting Monday through to Wed. With the temps predicted to drop to -24 over 3 days it will mean all that moisture has to come out of the air with high winds. I better go out and see if my snowblower will start! That beach with the sun after the storm looks oh so lovely and I can only imaging the smell!
