March 13th

Even though we have a full service site, our sewer hose is not long enough to reach the dump for this site.   A flood in the shower confirmed the monitor’s impression that the grey water tank was full.  It being Friday, the park was filling up fast, so we quickly moved to a site where we could reach the sewer and dumped, then returned to our fine site backed into the Tamarisk.  Such are the day to day tribulations of life in a RV.

Nancy went off to market this morning, while Kirk & I savoured the coffee and the morning. She returned with onions, strawberry oranges, lettuce, strawberries, coconut macaroons, tomatoes, cucumbers,  pita chips and homemade spicy roasted garlic humus, tzatziki dip, and a three layer dip with sun dried tomatoes, green pesto and feta cheese.  We feasted.

Anna's Hummingbird

Nancy stalked the brooding hummingbird and got a good photo.  We also washed down the Bigfoot, removing the last traces of the watery rout from Parker.  Nancy accessed the white-hair RV moccasin telegraph, which had it that the parachutists busily jumping out of the Skyvan were Canadian military, down for some training.

Another boring afternoon at the pool; I’m up to three laps breaststroke (short pool).
One last swim after supper, and now enjoying the fine evening listening to the crickets.
