dropping net in a circle
Once they had the net in a closed circle they started pulling it in while one guy threw a weighted javex jug into the centre to keep the fish from going over the edge of the net.
Then once the net was within about 30 feet of the boat another guy jumped in and started taking weighted javex jugs and diving down presumably to weight the bottom edges.
They got about 10 fish maybe a few more I didn't see.
Then off they went to chase the next group of fish. One of the Mexican fellows in the park had said the fish would be active after the rain and he was right. I went out to the first breakwater and fished but did not even get a bite. I should have been out there earlier but was too busy watching the action of the fishermen with the net.
The day was an off and on rain day. The work Carlos did the night before seemed adequate to the task.
prepared for rain or sun
oh,oh
We went into Rincon to check out a hotel for friends/family. Then went out to dinner at Hinde y Jaimes on the hill with friends. However, around 8 p.m. it just poured. Cam and I were out there digging a small trench down the road just past the bottom of the above photo to keep water from diverting as it ran past our site. The rain here is like bath water so not so bad.
These little guys are consuming 2 litres of feed a day, even on rainy days. Yikes. Sometimes there are about 10 to 15 hovering at a time.
