November 2nd - setting up camp

Well, the park wi-fi is up, so let the updates begin.  We choose site 17, for the rear patio, the view, and the fact that it is close to the office, so the wi-fi works.  We started off with a breakfast up at the restaurant, then moved the Bigfoot onto the site and began the set-up.

Dave, one of the caravan members, had this site last year.  He moved over one (beside us) because of the Mango tree.  Last year, the fruit was early (normally April), and he couldn't keep his trailer/site clean for all the mangos dropping in.

The parking spot for the CRV was also controversial.  There is a large fig tree, which attracts bats.  (They eat the figs)  When the bats fly away, they shit.  Apparently, if you don't get it off your car immediately, the sun bakes it on, and you need a chisel to get it off.  (Main office to the left)

We haven't had time to spruce up the back deck, but basically, you look through three large Mangroves at the three miles of deserted ocean beach that belongs to the park.

Ants will rule the earth.  Resistance is futile.  Nancy completed our hook-ups, and as recommended, doused everything with Comet cleaner, to discourage the Ants.

Nancy has her hummingbird feeder up; two species thus far, identification pending.

She, Ken, and Laurie went on an afternoon expedition into town, for groceries and laundry.  After much touring, they got groceries, but never did find the laundry.  (Nancy -found Margaritas though!) They said the cemetery was packed, (Day of the dead) many people, and lots of food carts to feed the hungry crowds.  It is dusk, and you can hear the band music from the celebrations drifting through the warm night air.  It's been sunny, warm (33 - 34 C) and humid, and with 15 amp power in the park, no air.  Life is hard.

just started exploring today. here at least a month but tons to do and the park is separate from town, good people, has a small restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch and sometimes a special supper meal and the beach is long and i have only seen 2 other people on it over the time we've been here, so probably will stay longer. Cam and I drove into town and over the river to Rincon today now it is getting warm -time to relax again Nancy
