Guadalajara & Jocotepec

Our destination just outside of Guadalajara

The truck maintenance facility was just outside of the anillo periférico (peripheral ring) of Guadalajara, so on initial inspection, we hoped to avoid morning rush hour traffic in Guadalajara, but on closer inspection, it was obvious the city had absorbed the perimeter, and we were in for some traffic fun.  (on a side note, observe the sub-divisions on what look like lava flows to the west)

We set off for Guadalajara at 7:30 this morning with Cam leading and our friend following.  Thanks to Cam's navigational diligence, we managed to traverse the heavy rush hour traffic and make it to Camino a Santa Ana Tepetitlán where we were treated extremely well, had a tour of the facility and everything explained as they looked at the truck.  The mechanics really liked the truck as they don't see a lot of 6.7 l diesel Cummins Ram 3500 full load trucks as they are not sold in Mexico. We left the truck with them so they could work their way through the issues and drove back to Roca Azul arriving at 10:30 a.m.  Amazing.

The garage office

Cam wants one of these little cars

Interior of the garage, very clean

They took out several semi-tucks so they could fit our truck in.

Driving out of Guadalajara through a residential area

Back in Jocotepec, more my speed!

We went into Jocotepec (Hoe-COE-te-peck) around 5:00 for supper.

Driving into Jocotepec

The town was fairly quiet

We had supper in a bar/restaurant

When we were leaving at 7:00 the town was just hopping with people and traffic.  Apparently rush hour here and in Guadalajara is 7 to 9 in the evening.
