Out and about and La Manzanilla

Today and yesterday, we spent time lounging around the pool, enjoying the air conditioning and strong wifi during the heat of the day, shopping and sampling nearby restaurants.

I had a problem.  All of the chaise lounges by the pool were very low, like 12 inches from the ground.    Easy to plop down onto, very comfortable, but impossible for me to rise from without a hoist from Nancy, even before a Margarita, or possibly two (over the course of the afternoon, mind you).  What to do, what to do.  Then I noticed a small platform created for headroom for the pool pumps and equipment below.

Problem solved!  I was now high enough to get to my feet by myself, bring on a Margarita!  Small victories.

A room with a balcony is $1100 US/month for a large and 1400 for an extra grande here at Laguna del Tule.  There seems to be a bus bringing people in everyday and leaving the next.

Crocodillo in the laguna maybe 6 ft

We drove 14 Km. north to the small but busy town of La Manzanilla.  Highway 200 here is just like 200 between El Monteon and Puerto Vallarta, decent pavement, but tight bends, lots of elevation changes, rock cuts, and large amounts of vegetation blending together over the road.  The beach was covered with umbrellas and Mexican and Gringo tourists.  I think, because the beach is calmer and shallower.

This afternoon we measured up the power lines for our drive out of Melaque, shopped downtown and sat under the palapa on the beach.

That wire's too low!

Wow

They're building a two or possibly three story building here in Melaque.

I watched them dig the piles, which are now poured, the floor filled and levelled with sand, and the steel tied for the grade beam.
